Promotions, retirements and new hires in Texas real estate

➤ Douglas Elliman Real Estate appointed Concho Minick as its executive sales manager for Dallas. Minick was previously CEO and principal of Christie’s International Real Estate Ulterre. Minick will focus on helping Elliman agents manage and expand their business and recruiting new agents into the firm.

➤ Newmark added Colin Cross to its capital markets team, the Dallas Business Journal reported. Cross is based in Dallas and “specializes in the placement of debt and structured finance with a background in market-rate apartments, affordable housing, student housing, senior housing, built-for-rent, and manufactured housing,” the outlet reported.

➤ Dallas-based Invitation Homes named Jonathan Olsen as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, the Dallas Business Journal reported. Olsen will replace Ernie Freedman effective June 1. Freedman will stay on as a consultant through March 2024. Olsen has been with the company since 2012, and before that, he worked in real estate investments for Goldman Sachs, Banc of America Securities and Jeffries & Company.

➤ Hanes Chatham Jr. joined Houston-based Partners Real Estate as a partner in the firm’s newly opened Dallas Office, which opened last year as part of the firm’s rebrand. 

Chatham joins Partners from Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners and has 15 years of commercial real estate experience. These include 12 years specializing in industrial services with a focus on tenant representation, as well as building sales and project leasing.

Greg Balliro made partner. Katie Oswald moved to managing director of business development. Michael Bertrand was promoted to vice president, Patrick Lynch and David Harris to senior associates and Will Huntsman to senior analyst. Harrison Finkelstein joined as vice president and Jerry Lopez stepped into the role of vice president of IT and cybersecurity. 

➤ Dallas-based Builders FirstSource Inc. appointed Dave Rush as its new chief executive officer. 

Previously serving as executive vice president of strategic management, Rush first joined the company in 2021 and took on the role of interim CEO in November 2022 after Dave Flitman stepped down. 

➤ The parent company of the Texas Capital Bank, Dallas-based Texas Capital Bancshares Inc., appointed Dustin Cosper as head of commercial real estate.

Cosper is now responsible for driving the execution of the bank’s commercial real estate strategy and will report directly to president of real estate, Madison Simm.
