StreetLights Residential is adding to an already massive mixed-use development in North Dallas.
The Dallas-based firm, led by CEO Doug Chestnut, is gearing up to build a 20-story, 616,700-square-foot apartment building at the 35-acre Park Lane complex on North Central Expressway, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The $134 million project will rise north of the Shops at Park Lane. The number of units wasn’t reported.
The Park Lane development includes 590,000 square feet of retail space and 344,000 square feet of offices. Constructed by Beck and developed by Harvest Partners, it has been owned since 2010 by Denver-based Northwood Investors.
Construction on the apartment high-rise is expected to start next summer, and it could open in 2027.
The Park Lane development has been a thriving hub since opening in 2009 and is across the highway from NorthPark Center mall. There are several apartment buildings already on site, such as the 165-unit Galleries at Park Lane, along with two other towers totalling 325 units, the outlet said.
StreetLights, a prolific developer of apartment high-rises, has two other projects underway along North Central Expressway — The Oliver, a 19-story tower near Cityplace, and the 20-story Galatyn tower, situated on the east side of Highland Park at North Central and Monticello.
Elsewhere in North Texas, StreetLights is building a $78 million multifamily complex at the Viridian Community in Arlington, marking its third luxury apartment project at the site. The firm is also a development partner in The Mix, a $3 billion mixed-use project spanning 112 acres in Frisco.
