The summer real estate season has delivered some big deals for celebrities active in the ultra-luxe market.
First, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are buying up more properties in Montecito.
The celebrity couple active in the high-end home game are the likely buyers for a $22.5 million estate named Pompeian Court, located at 319 San Ysidro Road in Montecito, according to Dirt.com and news website Siteline Santa Barbara.
The seller was Nicholas Zwick, founder of Dialogic, a cloud computer company based in New Jersey. Pompeian Court was acquired by a trust linked to DeGeneres’ longtime manager Harley Neuman. Also, the buyer’s agent has worked with the TV star frequently.
The listing’s main house is a 6,500-square-foot home built in 1919. The 8-acre grounds includes a pool, a pool house, a tennis court and a vineyard.
DeGeneres and de Rossi’s portfolio of homes includes an almost 10,000-square-foot Montecito mansion, a $70 million compound in Carpinteria and a Neutra-designed Bel-Air listing that they acquired from fashion designer Tom Ford for $29 million in 2022.
Madonna also made a real estate deal recently. The singer sold a 13,000-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles’ Hidden Hills enclave to a buyer identified as crypto-billionaire Kim Hyoungnyon, according to Dirt.com. Hyoungnyon is the vice-chairman of Seoul-headquartered crypto exchange Dunamu. He paid $23 million for the mansion.
Madonna purchased the place in 2021 for $19.3 million. She bought it from Grammy-award winning vocalist The Weeknd, who bought the property for $18.2 million in 2017.
The home’s amenities include a home theater, a wine cellar, as well as a gym and studio for Pilates and dance.
