Power broker and former reality TV star Fredrik Eklund is moving from Los Angeles to Miami and renting out his Beverly Hills home for $50,000 a month.
Eklund, who is one of the leads of Douglas Elliman’s Eklund-Gomes Team, made the announcement on a July 4 Instagram post.
He cited expanding business in Miami, one of his children getting into a private school there and the need to be closer to New York, where John Gomes is based. Eklund-Gomes was the top resale team in 2022, with $291 million in sales volume.
The “Million Dollar Listing” star and his husband Derek Kaplan paid over $7 million for the 5,700-square-foot home in the tony enclave.
The home at 9573 Lania Lane was built in 2017 and sits on about a third of an acre.
“I’ve built a strong team here and we continue to set records,” Eklund wrote in the post. “However, my business is expanding quickly in Miami and the twins got into one of the best schools there for the Fall. Derek got a super cool art studio in the Miami Design District too. We’re so [excited] for this new chapter. I do need to be closer to New York where the business is bigger than ever. Anyway, we LOVE this house so much, I will forever cherish these memories with the family.”
Eklund, who starred on “Million Dollar Listing New York” for 11 years, moved to Los Angeles from New York in 2019.
In addition to having brisk business in LA, New York and Miami, He recently expanded his presence in Austin, Texas.
The Beverly Hills home he’s renting out has seven bedrooms, seven baths, an office, movie theater, gym, sauna, pool, hot tub, three indoor fireplaces and one outdoor fireplace, according to his post. Showings are set to begin on July 12.
