A home that runs from the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway in Hillsboro Beach sold for $10.8 million.
Records show James Daniel Campbell and Jo Anne Campbell sold the property at 1079 Hillsboro Mile to 1079 Hillsboro Mile LLC, a Florida corporation linked to Davie-based Greenback Properties.
The buying entity links to Eric R. and Barbara “Barbie” Castro. She confirmed that she and her husband purchased the property and plan to tear down the house and build a new home.
Eric Castro is the co-founder of Davie-based Bankers Healthcare Group, a lending company. Barbie Castro is the CEO of Concord Films, and an actress and film producer, according to her LinkedIn. She is also the owner of PMA Records, and is a real estate agent with BHG Realty of Davie. She said she has been investing in real estate for 20 years and represented her husband and herself in the purchase.
The seller, James Daniel Campbell shares the name of the owner of Riverfront Cruises Anticipation Yacht Charters, a sightseeing tour agency in Fort Lauderdale. The Campbells bought the home in 2016 for $7.5 million, records show.
The home was listed for $12 million in February, according to Realtor.com. Christian Nicolai Pettersen of SuperiorFloridaRealty.com listed the home. Pettersen declined to comment on the sale.
Built in 1965, the 5,382-square-foot house has five bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. The 1.2-acre lot features 115 feet of Atlantic Ocean beachfront as well as another 115 feet of deepwater frontage, according to the listing.
Hillsboro Beach is home to a slew of oceanfront properties that regularly sell upwards of $10 million. In February, a mansion in Hillsboro Beach sold for $20 million.
Last year, the founder of a protein powder manufacturing company sold a mansion for $20.4 million, and a former Patrón Spirits CEO sold his mansion for $16.5 million.
