Reserve Padel at SoLé Mia | North Miami 

Wayne Boich, head of a family investment office and a padel enthusiast, will open a padel facility at LeFrak and Turnberry Associates’ SoLé Mia in North Miami

Boich’s Reserve Padel at SoLé Mia will open in the fall of next year on 2.3 acres at 2251 Northeast 146th Street, according to a news release from Reserve and SoLé Mia. Representatives for the landlords confirmed this is a ground lease deal. 

The facility will consist of four indoor courts and six outdoor courts, two pickleball courts and space for Omer and Jennifer Horev’s Pura Vida restaurant. This will be Reserve Padel’s first permanent outpost, though it has had pop-up facilities in Miami and New York. 

Boich, who founded Reserve at Padel, heads Columbus, Ohio-based Boich Investment Group. The firm started out in coal mining in Ohio in 1963 and has expanded into real estate nationwide, according to its website. He lives in MIami Beach.

Turnberry, led by Jackie Soffer, and LeFrak, led by Richard LeFrak, are developing the 184-acre SoLé Mia. As one of the biggest projects in North Miami, the $4 billion SoLé Mia will consist of 4,390 apartments and condos, as well as 1.5 million square feet of commercial space, once fully completed. Among buildings still on tap is the 32-story, 303-unit One Park Tower condo building at SoLé Mia. Turnberry partnered with developer Carlos Rosso on the project. 

Aqua-Tots Swim Schools | Fort Lauderdale 

A children’s swim school will open in Fort Lauderdale

Aqua-Tots Swim Schools signed a 15-year lease for 8,200 square feet, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. The school will open at the Shoppes at 18th & Commercial plaza, 1701-1781 East Commercial Boulevard, Craig Merlin said. An opening date hasn’t been determined.

Merlin and Jeremy Larkin, both of NAI Miami | Fort Lauderdale, represented Aqua-Tots. 

Ardmore, Pennsylvania-based Willner Realty & Development bought the Shoppes at 18th for $9.2 million in 2005, according to records. Since then, the firm renovated the 82,00-square-foot plaza, which was completed in 1992.

Badcock Economy Furniture Store | Pompano Beach 

Badcock Economy Furniture Store kept its Pompano Beach warehouses, though it cut its space. 

The furniture store renewed its lease at 2101 Park Central Boulevard for 35,800 square feet and at 1521 West Copans Road for 86,700 square feet, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. The space reduction amount was not provided. 

Lauren Pace of Colliers represented Badcock. 

San Francisco-based Prologis owns both properties. The real estate investment trust bought the 2101 Park Central Boulevard building as part of a three-property deal for $30.3 million in 2011, according to records. About the same time, Prologis bought the 1521 West Copans Road building as part of a two-property deal for $13 million. 

Led by Hamid Moghadam, Prologis is a logistics real estate firm with a portfolio of more than 1.2 billion square feet across 19 countries, its website shows. 

Avi Aviation | Sunrise 

Aerospace equipment company Avi Aviation kept its headquarters in Sunrise

Avi renewed its 128,000-square-foot lease for the entire Building M at 1655 Northwest 136th Avenue in the Sawgrass Technology Park, according to a news release from the tenant’s broker. The firm provides rafts, slides, life vests and other safety equipment for the aviation industry. 

Radnor, Pennsylvania-based EQT Exeter owns Building M. It paid $15.8 million for it in 2018, records show. 

Carlos Velasquez of VSRE represented the tenant, and Sander Smith of EQT represented the landlord.
