Real estate agent Jason Walker has been fired from boutique brokerage CORE, just 14 months after being terminated from Compass.

CORE issued a statement early Friday afternoon, saying only that it had “dissolved ties” with Walker. A CORE spokesperson declined to comment further on what led to the termination. Walker could not immediately be reached for comment.

The news comes less than a month after Walker closed a $4 million deal on behalf of some of his biggest celebrity clients — John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

One CORE [TRDataCustom] broker expressed shock at the termination, saying it seemed sudden. The same agent told The Real Deal that the Legend-Teigen deal had been touted by CORE chiefs in company-wide emails this week.

The ouster follows a tumultuous year for the big-name broker, who filed a $6 million lawsuit against Compass in New York Supreme Court earlier this year, claiming he’d been fired by Compass in August 2015 on “trumped-up grounds” and denied $170,000 in commissions he was owed. He said the company was run by “serial promise-breakers and inexperienced staff with outsized egos who lacked real estate knowledge” and alleged that the firm had spread false rumors that he was a misogynist.

Compass countered by claiming that Walker was not a team player.

“We believe that individuals that are not collaborative are not a good fit for Compass,” a Compass spokesperson said at the time.

Compass filed to dismiss the suit last month.

Walker joined Compass last year after jumping from Douglas Elliman, where he was Rookie of the Year in 2005.
